What is a Farm Hack?
A Life Hack is defined by the Urban dictionary as, "A tool or technique that makes some aspect of one's life easier or more efficient."
On this page of Farm Hacks, it will spot-light some things that we have done to make things easier for us or just how we do things out here in woods. I cannot take credit for everything you see and will give proper recognition when I can or know the source.
One thing to also consider, what works for us may not work for you. Many thing to take into consideration: location/region, size/amount, breed or species. I can only tell you what I have found that works well for us.
The only reason there is even a need to say this, because in today's age of information, it easy to claim someone is wrong or "that's not the right way" or even, "well, I've done it that way for years".
With time comes change. New advancements, information, and ideas. Some age old practices are still great today, others, science have proven other ways to do things.
My only advice, take the info as advice, not law. Use what you can, adapt a method to your needs, and disregard the rest.
Everyone is at different stages of life, from the beginning homesteader looking for all sorts of information to the seasoned farmer who has been in agri-related industry for years. I learn something new from people who have been at it longer than I as well as try to help those that are taking their first steps.
A saying worth repeating here, the original author is unknown, but attributed to a great many different people, "If you are the smartest person in the room, then you are in the wrong room."
